UT System Has Its First Green Building!

Datum Engineers is proud to have been a part of the team which has designed the first building in the University of Texas System to become LEED(TM) Certified through the US Green Building Council.

The University of Texas Research Office Complex at the J. J. Pickle Research Center in Austin received Certified status in May 2007.  The 94,000 square foot building, dedicated in January 2007, added much-needed office, conference, and collaboration space for the nationally prominent Institute for Geophysics (UTIG), part of the Jackson School for Geosciences.  It also created a new home for the Texas Advanced Computing Center (TACC), which handles the super-computing needs for researchers throughout the UT System and across the US.  This summer, the TACC will go live, which will be one of the world's fastest, most powerful general purpose supercomputers.

For more information on UTIG or TACC, see the Jackson School of Geosciences website and the Texas Advanced Computing Center website.

Datum Gojer Engineers, LLC, a HUB collaboration between Datum and Charles Gojer & Associates, served as structural engineer for the building.  The design team was led by the Austin architecture group at PBS&J.
