This is the rendering of the final solution that we determined to be the most economical. It was priced to add a $2,800,000.00 premium to the cost of the structure. The city felt this was a reasonable cost and approach, so they directed us to proceed.
When Dallas lost the bid for the Olympic games, the city was so pleased with the Convention Center functional benefits of the column free space, they instructed us to continue with the design.
What is interesting and not well known, is “The Process of The Art of Engineering” that goes into creating a design of this type.
