Dallas Police Memorial - Figures 3 and 4

These are taken from the structural drawings. They show the post tensioning cable that was installed inside the steel box girder. The cables were installed to allow tensioning of the box girder that would remove any deflection that may occur in the structure.

A 3/4" deflection was pulled out of the end of the cantilever at the completion of the steel erection by tensioning the cables. The measurements of the canopy at the end of the project indicated a deviation from high to low in the entire canopy of 1/4".
