EDS World Headquarters - Figures 2, 3 and 4

We undertook a value engineering exercise to identify the most economical solution with architectural expression and cost in mind. We identified and priced 11 different structural systems to span 176 feet. Four of the schemes are shown here. The Architect originally assumed we would use a vierendeel truss, but the member sizes were extremely big, bulky, and expensive.
