UT Southwestern Medical Center - Figures 2, 3 and 4

These are drawings that depict the approach recommended by Datum Engineers. Precast concrete forms were designed to form the cast-in-place concrete beams and columns. The use of these forms saved over 4 inches of width that is usually required to accommodate the connections to install conventional precast façade panels. This accomplished the owner’s requirements for structural strength, vibration control, and architectural exposed precast concrete while keeping the structure within the architect’s desired proportions.
