This striking laboratory and classroom facility was constructed on the site of the revered but outdated Anna Hiss Gymnasium.  The design features a sweeping cantilevered limestone wall focused on the front entry.  The 4-story structure is framed with a cast-in-place concrete wide pan joist system for strength stiffness, and future adaptability.  The gabled roof structure consists of a concrete slab on composite metal deck and steel beams to provide a solid, stiff substrate for the clay-tile roof. A partial basement and large mechanical penthouse provide space for building services and mechanical systems.
