The Jester Garage set a new tone for parking structures on the UT campus and around Austin. It challenges the notion that a garage has to be a bland gray box. Brick inlays in the precast spandrel panels give the massive building, on a prominent location, a more architectural feel, allowing it to blend in with the rest of the campus.

At the Owner's request, Datum designed the garage as both a precast structure, and as a cast-in-place structure. Both options were bid simultaneously, and resulted when the bids for the precast structure came in $1 million lower they elected to capture the initial cost savings with this option.
