Datum Engineers is proud of our role in the renovation and expansion of the Texas State Capitol building, completed in the early 1990's. Datum worked extensively on the renovation efforts, evaluating and strengthening the 100-year-old building, designing connecting tunnels and designing concealed ductwork systems. As a joint venture partner with Walter P. Moore, Datum designed much of the 4-level, 850,000 square foot underground annex including a 2-level parking garage for 700 cars beneath two statehouse floors, with connecting tunnels to nearby state buildings.
