Town East Mall is a 2-story, 12 acre shopping complex. The architectural concept envisioned a large enclosed mall in the shape of a triangle whose three points were truncated, with two levels of lease space on each of the three sides of the triangle and a department store at each of the three truncated corners. The central triangular mall was conceived as a roof area virtually free of columns although the mall would enclose one and a half acres of ground.

The structural roof scheme consists of six identical triangular-base pyramids spanning from the peripheral columns to a central pylon 176 feet in height. The base of each pyramid is an equilateral triangle 150 feet on a leg. Each pyramid is supported at its vertex and at the three points of the base by means of bridge cables to the top of the pylon. The roof deck is composed of metal decking, foam insulation, and Neoprene-Hypalon roofing.
