The McDonald Observatory has Hyperbolic Paraboloid Space Frame Roof. The Hobby-Eberly Telescope dome is 85 feet in diameter and 106 feet tall. Attached to the telescope, is the George T. Abell Gallery, a 1,000 sq. ft. public viewing gallery. The gallery allows visitors to view the telescope’s structure.
