The Nasher Sculpture Center encompasses an indoor sculpture gallery and outdoor sculpture garden in the heart of the Dallas Arts District.

Process

Working with Pritzger Prize winner, Renzo Piano, the architects at Beck, and landscape architect Peter Walker, Datum helped make this public art facility come to life. We were associated with Arup London and designed all of the garden structures, including the James Turrell’s outdoor Skyspace sculpture area. We created four-ft concrete joist spacing for the first floor to work with the module of the air conditioning ducts that extend up inside the stone walls that separate the galleries on the first floor. We also contributed to creating a concept for a belts and suspenders waterproofing system on the basement walls to protect the high value artwork stored there. The loading dock is a moveable platform that lowers the trucks to the basement loading dock.

We continue to work with the Nasher Sculpture Center on the installation of sculpture displays.
