Location

Dallas, Texas

Size

20,000 sq. ft

Design Architect

Dattner Architects

The Rory Meyers Children's Adventure garden at the Dallas Arboretum is full of structures supporting educational interactive displays.

Some of the more challenging structures were the Texas Skywalk and the tree house. The tree house steel structure is encased in gunite concrete and was formed to create a beautiful tree. The hollow tree has a wooden spiral staircase in the middle.

At the top of the staircase, the tree opens up to access the elevated nets around the tree allowing youth to bounce and play. The Adventure Bridge links the tree house to the Texas Skywalk. This is a pathway across the park to look down on the exciting places to explore throughout the park. All of the pavilions are unique, allowing individual architectural expression in each design.
