Throughout most of history, architecture and structural engineering were the domain of the master builder; it was only in the 20th century that these became specialized practices.  We seek to restore the close relationship between architecture and structure, between form and function, between skin and bones, that formerly reigned under the master builder’s guidance. Just as the architectural design evolves from the context of the site, so the structure must respond to the ideas and values of the architecture to properly integrate into the finished whole. To achieve this, we practice The Art of Structural Engineering:

Passion for Architecture – We strive to be students of architecture so that we can better understand our clients’ goals and deliver a structure that works in harmony with the architectural design. We are eager to explore ideas and propose structural concepts with the goal of creating a great design.

Innovative Solutions – We provide creative solutions to complex challenges when the project needs them.

Experience – There is no technological substitute for engineering judgment. Our depth and breadth of experience inform our solutions.

Fiscal Responsibility – Selecting an efficient structural system and designing responsibly protects budgets and frees up money to be spent on finishes and other more tangible aspects of the building that are meaningful to the owner and end users.

Client-Focused Service – We promise to deliver superior, attentive service from conceptual design through project close-out and beyond.
