Q & A

What inspires you about your work?

As structural engineers, we have the opportunity to create spaces for our communities to enjoy. I think there is more artistry to our job than most people realize. We creatively problem-solve through the use of physics, mathematics, and material science to help take the theoretical and make it physical. It takes a lot of teamwork to bring the built environment to life; I find it very rewarding and humbling to contribute to the realization of the ambitious visions of owners and architects.

Why do you work at Datum?

I joined Datum because of their impressive portfolio of projects spanning throughout the state of Texas. My favorite part about working with the team is the way that we approach structural engineering. The Datum team is full of like-minded individuals who share a passion for problem solving, creativity, the pursuit of knowledge, and an appreciation for architecture.

What makes you interesting?

Outside of the office, I love playing soccer, golfing, and going to live comedy shows. Some of my other hobbies include skiing, crosswords, and jigsaw puzzles. I also have two fluffy cats named Kit and Pancake who undermine my authority at any given opportunity. I love them.
