Datum Engineers is a nationally recognized, award-winning structural engineering firm based in Texas, since 1937.  In 2023, Datum opened its first out of state office in Chicago, Illinois.

While the majority of our work is located in the Texas region, we have completed projects from Seattle to Miami. We are fortunate to get to work with some of the most talented architectural designers from around our nation and beyond.

Position Requirements
      • Architectural engineering or structural emphasis needed
      • Master’s Degree in Structural Engineering strongly preferred
      • Licensed Engineer
      • 5-12 years of experience
Desired Skills and Traits
      • Experience in the design of vertical structures, including at least 5 years in the design of commercial and/or institutional buildings
      • Professional licensure for structural engineering (PE or SE)
      • Strong technical experience in the design of steel, concrete, and/or heavy timber structures
      • Strong relational skills and a high EQ (emotional intelligence quotient)

Marketing Specialist

We are seeking a marketing specialist to help support all Datum offices from either our Austin or Dallas office. The ideal candidate is organized, likes to multi-task, is a team player and has a can-do attitude.

Position Requirements
                • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, graphic design, business or related field preferred, but not required
                • 2-6 years of marketing in the AEC industry
                • Ability to handle multiple critical deadlines and exceptional organizational skills
                • Open communication and interpersonal skills with a positive and energetic attitude
                • Ability to work well in a team environment and effectively lead and initiate ideas
                • Detailed knowledge of InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Bridge CC is required
                • Basic knowledge of HTML and CMS is a plus
                • Experience with social media campaigns

Internships

Datum offers structural engineering internship opportunities for current college students in their 4th year or in graduate school at all of our offices.  Full-time and part-time internships are available both during the school year and summers.
