Q & A

What inspires you about your work?

"Structural engineering work at Datum inspires me in at least three ways. First, it is inspiring to collaborate with architects and owners to design great buildings that meet the needs of society. Being appreciated for bringing our experience and knowledge of structural design to the team effort is highly motivating. Our input is needed by the team and can have a significant impact on the success of the architectural design. Secondly, inspiration comes from working with our highly competent and intelligent team members who solve complex structural design challenges, execute quality designs and produce the building information models for each building. Finally, after a building is designed, built, and in use, it is inspirational to see people using and enjoying the buildings that we design. Seeing the structures come to life and enrich the lives of the people who use them is a joy that truly motivates me."
