Austin State Hospital is a new 374,000 sq. ft. hospital with 240-inpatient psychiatric beds. UT Dell Medical School is the academic partner to Health and Human Services for the replacement of the aging Austin State Hospital. This is part of a major initiative by the State of Texas to invest in facilities across the state to provide improved mental healthcare.
The hospital was designed by Page, Datum Rios was the structural engineer, and Turner was the general contractor.
